Registration Form for After School Program 2012-13

The BACC Program provides a safe and supervised environment for school age children after the end of the structured school day. Our programs operate within the Brewster Elementary Schools from the close of the school day until 6pm. This year we are again offering a 1-hour only option from 2-3 pm for those who need just a short period of time. This option was created last year in response to the change in dismissal time which created some logistical issue for some parents, and has become a very popular and appreciated feature of our program. (We notice that some students are in no hurry to leave after just one hour!)

Varying activities are provided that are appropriate for each age group.  Our staff greets students daily, seeing that each child is made to feel as an important part of the group. We encourage and guide children to become independent and creative thinkers and problem solvers.  Homework time is built into the afternoon schedule.    The children have the opportunity to play in the gym as well as on the outside playground.

BACC offers a wide variety of small and large group activities to support this development.  Children at our after school programs have the chance to make individual choices each day.  The environment is full of diverse activities that include social interaction, multi-cultural awareness, literacy, nature and science, arts and crafts, recreation, athletics, drama, music, cooking, martial arts, and pottery.  We provide a nutritionally balanced snack for each child at a regularly scheduled time.  Snack consists of 100% juice, milk, water, fruit, crackers, cereal and other healthy options.

Our BACC Staff members and volunteers have background or interests in the fields of education, social work, psychology, science and technology, and the arts.  Each year our staff and volunteers bring uniqueness and creative energies to share with the after school programs.  Our Executive Director an staff work closely with the Brewster Elementary Schools, Nauset and Cape Cod Regional School Systems, and the Town of Brewster to provide our community with the best after school program possible.
